How should I care for my guinea pigs?

Guinea pigs are small, docile and sociable, and as domestic pets, they are loved by families and pet lovers. Despite their small size, the love and care that guinea pigs need should not be underestimated, and in daily life, do you know how to better take care of your baby guinea pig on grooming process?

Tip 1: Home is where the fluff bedding.

For guinea pigs, comfort begins with a clean and cozy bedding. A quick daily fluff of fresh hay, a gentle swipe of bedding, and a mist of pet-safe disinfectant keep their space blissfully fresh. Think of it as their mini wellness retreat—because squeaky clean = squeaky happy.

Tip 2: Clean coats, calm hearts.

While they don’t need bubble baths, regular grooming helps manage excess oils and keeps their coat glossy and smooth. Some piggies have oilier skin types (yep, they’re just like us!). A gentle wipe or occasional wash with a gentle shampoo under supervision makes a world of difference.

Tip 3: Tiny nails, big deal.

Piggy pedicures are real! If your floof lives on soft bedding, their nails won’t naturally wear down. Use a sharp small-animal clipper, shine a light to spot the vein, and trim just the tips. Pro tip? A quick dot with a pen can mark the safe zone.
